'Fleurs du Château'

MEDITERRANEAN SUMMER COLLECTION
This is one of a small and very special collection, painted during and immediately after my incredible trip to Eurpoe over the summer to attend an artist residency in the Champagne region, France. I stayed near the tiny village of Orquevaux, where I spent a fortnight painting in a magnificent 19th century chateau, Chateau Orquevaux, amongst other writers and artists from around the world.  During the residency I tried to explore landscapes more than I normally would, as well as my usual floral still life.
 
Fleurs du Château is an especially meaningful piece, featuring a French antique ceramic vase, vintage tiles from behind the fireplace, flowers I collected around the village, and freshly picked apricots we had each morning for breakfast.

This painting comes professionally framed in natural timber and is ready to hang with a rear wire. This piece is hand signed on the rear and front of the piece. A signed certificate of authenticity will also be included. All my canvases and frames are professional quality, and handmade in Australia. The canvases are stretched over 38mm finger-jointed hoop pine, and the frames are constructed from ethically sourced American Ash. The paints I use are all professional quality oils, varnished in a satin finish. Ready to hang.
